With almost 30 percent of full-time college students meeting the medical definition of drug or alcohol addiction, according to a recent study from the National Center on Addiction and Substance abuse, are students really considering the long-term effects of drugs before trying them even once?

Thanks to TV, radio, and print ads, the majority of the public is knowledgeable about the immediate side effects of drug use, like losing hair and teeth and other harmful effects.

The building year continued for the Mesa softball team on April 1, as the very young T-bird squad came up just short against a surging Central Arizona College.

The Lady T-birds out hit the Vaqueros, but a 2-run blast gave Central the momentum, eventually winning the contest 2-1.

It was a game of runs on April 4, when Mesa took on Phoenix College in what would be a very important game for both teams.

It safe to say expectations ran high in this game, for second place in the ACCAC was on the line for both teams.

Mesa, now 20-25 on the season, came out firing and ended with a bang, but innings five and six is what eventually doomed Mesa as they went on to lose 10-6.

After being pent up in stuffy winter coats and long jeans, spring is here.

For those who wish to get their skin a few shades darker before heading pool side, using tanning beds is a typical tool for doing so.

However, students may want to think twice before making their way to a tanning salon.

Are we ready?

"Is America ready for a female president?"

This has been the question that's made people flush and stumble ever since former first lady Hillary Clinton announced her intent to run for presidency in 2007.

But the question is: has America really progressed to the full-blown equal rights, equal opportunity nation that we say we are?
Or will the polls reveal our true feelings?
